We prefer to print from high resolution PDF files but we also accept the majority of mainstream PC and MAC programmes. These include; CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, QuarkXpress and Illustrator. All images, digital photos and scans must be inserted at 300dpi and converted to CMYK. This also applies to the finished file output. Text in PDFs. Embed all fonts used. Text in Programmes. Convert all text to curves, outlines or paths. Keep a copy of the original file (prior to any text conversion) in case future changes need to be made. Do not use LZW compression on TIFFs or other bitmap images. Bleed edges (areas that are intended to extend off the page) should be 3mm. Solid black objects and/or backgrounds should be set to the following values: C=50%, M=0%, Y=0%, K=100%. These values will produce a richer black. For black text only use; C=0%, M=0%, Y=0%, K=100%. Ensure text boxes are positioned at a minimum of 5mm from any edge. For Best Results. 1. Use a photo editing tool such as Photoshop to scan, crop, correct, etc. photographs and save them as 300dpi CMYK TIFF files. 2. Place the photograph into a drawing program such as Illustrator to add your text on top of the photograph. 3. Always try to use a drawing program such as Illustrator for large blocks of text like the back of a postcard or contact information on the front of a business card. 4. Always keep in mind that vector files (Illustrator/CorelDraw) will produce the best results since they are not resolution dependent like bitmap files (TIFF or JPEG). You are 100% responsible for the accuracy of your layouts. Please proof-read all layouts carefully. If we have any problems with your artwork, we will notify you prior to printing it. We try to review all files within 24 hours of receipt. Our review process is nominal and it is ultimately your responsibility to produce industry standard artwork. We do not guarantee an 'exact' colour match to any previous job, either printed by us or elsewhere. If the files we print match the layout of the files you sent us and a reprint is requested, the cost of reprinting them will be borne by you. |
